Multiple Myeloma is one difficult diseases to deal with. However, you need not to battle with it alone. There are just so many people who are willing to take it with you. Ann Guarino, a resident of Glen Rock also has a husband who suffers from Multiple Myeloma, almost 8 years from now. Instead of faltering and backing off, she credits her husband, Vito, as an inspiration to move life.
For the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF), which aims to help patients heal from the disease, Ann Guarino takes “one step at a time” up the Empire State Building, one of the world’s most famous and tallest skyscrapers. Together with 100 athletes who run for the marathon, Ann Guarino does not only bring hope to her husband but also to many other wives and mothers like her, who have family that members are suffering from Multiple Myeloma.
Living with strong knees, Vito did not lose hope too. With the many people, including his wife who ran for the marathon, he knows that there is always a hope because he is not alone. Meanwhile, with the support of the thriving athletes, not only Vito would benefit from it, but also many other patients whose love ones ran together with them, as well as those who seek for cure.
Battling with Multiple Myeloma always takes one step at a time. However, though it may be slow, there is always a way to reach the top when you believe with other people that you can.
